Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Nursing Student Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support RN-directed patient care in a Rehab Hospital setting. The role focuses on developmentally appropriate care, hygiene, mobility assistance, and documenting vitals and observations.

Night shift availability, and the student must be enrolled in an accredited RN program with basic nursing fundamentals coursework. AHA BLS certification is required or obtained during orientation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program (BSN preferred).
• Must have completed Nursing Fundamentals coursework.
• AHA BLS certification is required or to be completed during orientation.
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients and families in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Communicate effectively with the patient and care team.
• Assist with hygiene care and activities of daily living.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, and monitoring intake.
• Respond to call lights and maintain a clean, stocked environment.
• Document vitals and report changes to the RN promptly.
• Provide comfort measures and non-pharmacological pain management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
