Job summary

Select Medical in Sylvania, OH is seeking a Student Nurse Technician (Future Registered Nurse) to support patient care on day shift. You must be currently enrolled in an ADN or BSN program and provide proof of year-one/fundamentals completion, and be able to pick up shifts at Sylvania and Oregon locations.

You will perform vital signs, personal care assistance, and basic nursing tasks under RN supervision, with opportunities to learn and grow. BLS is required on hire.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN)
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices
• Clear verbal and written communication, teamwork with staff and patients
• BLS certification required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, hygiene routines).
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger-stick glucose, bladder scans, urine/stool sample collection, ostomy care and drainage disposal.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN (not in antecubital fossa or higher).
• Deliver meals and snacks and assist patients unable to feed themselves; document intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients and help with mobility program.
• Transport patients to designated areas and treatment centers.
