Select Specialty Hospital - St. Louis is seeking a Student Nurse Tech (Future Registered Nurse) to gain hands-on experience at the St. Charles location.

This Per Diem daytime role (7a-7p) supports patient care under RN supervision, offering valuable exposure while you complete prerequisite nursing coursework. Enrollment in an ADN or BSN program is required, with proof of first-year fundamentals. The hospital provides tuition reimbursement, a 13-week New Graduate RN program, and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN) - must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and to maintain effective working relations with others including patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates.
• BLS certification required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data
• Assist patients with personal and daily care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, shaving and hair care
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, routine urine and stool specimen collection, ostomy care and emptying drainage receptacles/tubes
• Remove peripheral IV’s as directed by RN
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves and document oral intake
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility program
• Transport patients to designated areas, such as to and from various treatment centres

Position: Student Nurse Tech (Future Registered Nurse)

Location: Select Specialty Hospital - St. Charles (Inside of St. Joe's)

Schedule: PRN Day 7a-7p

Compensation: $22/PRN Rate

Orientation Requirements: Must be available either the 2nd week of the month (Tuesday/Wednesday 8a-4:30pm and Friday 8am-1:30pm) OR 3rd week of the month (Wednesday/Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday 8am-1:30pm) WE CANNOT BYPASS WEEKDAY ORIENTATION REQUIREMENTS.

This position requires current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program) and must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing, (or equivalent).
