Responsibilities

As part of a patient-first approach, nurse interns are given a valuable opportunity to partner with a registered nurse, nurse preceptor, or other licensed healthcare professional to develop critical thinking skills and gain experience for a smooth transition in clinical practice upon graduation from an accredited nursing or other occupational program. They create and nurture relationships with patients, families, community members, colleagues, and staff in a caring and healing environment, exercising teamwork skills within a professional practice setting. They strive for excellent patient safety and quality outcomes.
