Position Overview

Utilizing the nursing process, the Nurse Extern I, a nursing student, provides holistic nursing care under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Within 6 months of graduation, Nurse Extern I is eligible to advance to the Nurse Extern II/Clinical Partner role.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled in and attending an accredited nursing program.
2. Successfully completed a second clinical rotation; if already a CNA, then one clinical rotation.
3. Above-average GPA as evidenced by transcripts.
4. Two letters of recommendation from a clinical instructor.
5. Completed relevant theory and/or clinical courses for the specialty area.
6. Completion of NCLEX within 3 months of hire.
