Job summary

Boone Hospital Center is offering a May 2027 Graduate Nurse opportunity with a paid practicum or preceptorship during your final nursing school semester. After clinical hours, you may continue as Nurse Apprentice, LPN, or PCT with scheduled hours.

Sign-On Bonus of $15,000 and GN tuition support are available, plus an accredited Nurse Residency Program and other GN perks. A benefits option is available upon request.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Administers or assists patients with ADL, performs VS, l&O, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, foley care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education.
• Documents all patient care activities provided.
• Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development and lifelong learning, as well as acting as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.

Job Description Additional Job Information Secure a May, 2027 Graduate Nurse position early! Paid practicum or preceptorship (clinical hours) during your final semester of nursing school. Opportunity to work in advanced Student Nurse Apprentice, and/or LPN or PCT. Experience will enhance clinical skills, self-confidence, and critical thinking skills. After completion of clinical hours, continue 8 hours per pay period as Nurse Apprentice, LPN, or PCT. Sign-On Bonus Eligible $15,000, GN Tuition Support, Accredited Nurse Residency Program, and all other GN perks! We also have an option for benefits, if interested. Please attach a current resume if possible. Units eligible for SNAP-GN: Cardiology, Medical Specialties, Oncology/Neurology, Orthopedics, Surgical Specialties, and Progressive Care Unit SNAP requires a two-year commitment to work in the same department as a Registered Nurse.

Overview Job Summary

Provides patient care to support the licensed professional nurses responsible for a team of patients to ensure a safe environment for patients by reducing risk of harm. Collects vital information on the patient and reports such to the RN which contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to a patient’s condition. The Nurse Apprentice may work under the direct supervision of an RN whereby advanced procedures and skills may be performed. The Nurse Apprentice may also perform duties in the Patient Care Technician role (not under direct supervision of an RN), where the Nurse Apprentice is responsible for duties delegated by the licensed professional nurse.
