The University of Minnesota is seeking a part-time position for students to assist with new student move-in prior to Welcome Week. Responsibilities include directing volunteers, managing traffic, and maintaining supplies.
This outdoor role requires standing and walking, with a pay range of $17.00/hr based on education and experience. Students will be provided work attire and can participate in health benefits if eligible.

This position will play a critical role in helping execute new student move‑in on the Monday and Tuesday prior to Welcome Week each year. It is a short‑term position that will include up to 2 hours of training prior to move‑in and up to 12 hours of work on each move‑in day.
Almost all work will be done outside in August weather. Employees should be prepared for working in heat, rain, and/or rapidly changing weather conditions. Most of the work will be standing and involve significant walking. Employees should be prepared to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds while working move‑in. Employees will be provided 2 polo shirts to wear during move‑in and are allowed to wear shorts and head covering as desired.
Pay Range: $17.00/hr depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Student workers are eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan if they maintain 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester. The same applies for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Assistants, Residents, Fellows and Interns.

Must be a current University of Minnesota student enrolled in at least 6 credits for Fall 2022 semester.
