Job summary

King’s Harbor Church is seeking a part-time Youth Ministry Associate to support the Student Minister in overseeing youth programming. You will help with Wednesday night youth group, Sunday activities, and student discipleship, while participating in staff meetings and one-on-one mentorship.

Youth education, planning, and camp supervision duties are included, along with engaging parents and balancing ministry with personal growth.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled or have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program from an accredited college or university.
• Provide your own transportation to/from the church and/or planned activities.
• Attend King’s Harbor Church while employed.
• Complete a background check and child safety training.
• Adhere to KHC policies for the safety of the congregation and students.
• Have knowledge of Scripture and clearly articulate the Gospel message.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching both Middle School and High School.
• Participate in the discipleship of male students and leaders.
• Build rapport and relationships with students and parents in the youth ministry.
• Assist in planning, organization, and implementation of youth activities, including games, worship, devotionals, service projects and events.
• Serve as a small group leader on Wednesday nights.
• Serve as a counselor at student camps.
• Attend additional events such as on-campus ministries and sports.
• Assist with the social media presence of the youth group and engage with teens online.
• Balance the demands of ministry with personal spiritual development and friendships.

Role:

This is a part-time position that will oversee ministry operations in partnership with the Student Minister. The person in this position will need to be an energetic team player with the ability to disciple students and help with the day-to-day of running Wednesday nights and Sunday morning student programming.

Job Description:

1. Fully participate in Wednesday night youth group, Sunday church activities, staff meetings and one-on-one check-ins with the Student Minister.
2. Attend Sunday worship.
3. Assist in teaching both Middle School and High School.
4. Participate in the discipleship of male students and leaders
5. Build rapport and relationships with students and parents in the youth ministry.
6. Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of both middle school and high school games/activities. Activities may include worship, devotionals, service projects, and special events.
7. Serve as a small group leader on Wednesday nights
8. Serve as a counselor at student camps
9. Attend additional events such as on-campus ministries, sports, games, recitals, etc.
10. Assist with the social media presence of the youth group and engage with the teens there in an uplifting way.
11. Learn about balancing the demands of ministry with personal spiritual development, friendships, and the other responsibilities of life.
12. Ask questions, be creative, offer and implement your ideas, seek servant leadership opportunities, take risks, learn, and see God work through you to make an impact on others.
