SouthPoint Financial Credit Union in New Ulm, MN is seeking a Student Member Advisor for our branch. The role focuses on delivering exceptional service while guiding members through digital banking tools, loans, deposits and transfers, and assisting in special projects to support community growth.

The position is casual/seasonal, with hours Monday–Friday and rotating Saturdays, offering a flexible entry into the credit union environment and opportunities to learn across channels.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Serves as a Student Member Advisor in the Credit Union branch setting. The primary responsibility is to provide excellent service by demonstrating the principals of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union and adhering to the vision of “Empowering People to Enhance Lives”. The Student Member Advisor is responsible for performing member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers. This role also supports members through digital channels by helping them navigate online banking, mobile banking, eServices, and other self-service tools while promoting secure and convenient digital solutions. Also performs other related member service functions, along with assisting in special projects and miscellaneous tasks. Friendly, professional and personal service toward all SouthPoint Financial Credit Union members is mandatory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greeting and welcoming current and non-members into the branch, as well as our drive thru areas.
• Create long lasting relationships through building trust and understanding with our members.
• Strive to improve the member experience through each interaction, to give back to our members and our communities and to help our members and team mates to be successful.
• Responsible to provide consistent, timely, accurate service to our members.
• Adhere to and uphold the Credit Union’s core vision and mission in supporting the organizations efforts in promoting a culture of doing the right things, for the right reasons.
• Perform member transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash advances, check cashing and transfers.
• Issue certified checks and gift cards.
• Process daily drop box.
• Assist members by phone, in person, and through digital service channels on matters such as: account status, account balance, online banking, mobile banking, eServices, office hours, and general questions on products and services offered.
• Educate and guide members on digital banking tools, including enrollment, password resets, mobile deposit, electronic statements, card controls, alerts, transfers, and other self-service features.
• Promote adoption of secure digital solutions that improve member convenience, reduce manual transactions, and support an efficient branch experience.

• Assist other departments within the credit union on projects/tasks, as needed.
• Recognize opportunities to cross-sell credit union products and services to members.
• Resolve member issues, questions and complaints. Research, investigate, and document member problems or complaints and/or direct these matters through proper channels to ensure follow-up to achieve member satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Requires professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for communicating with members and co-workers.
• Requires thorough knowledge of credit union products, services and policies.
• Requires intermediate mathematical skills (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
• Basic Automated Systems skills required. Working knowledge of online banking, mobile banking, digital account tools, and secure member authentication practices preferred.
