DMC University Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Student Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Chemistry to perform routine clinical tests and assist in specimen handling under close supervision.

Location is in Detroit, MI with a dayshift schedule. The position emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration while supporting ongoing learning and professional development.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Medical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests on patient specimens following established methodologies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of specimens received and test results.
• Prepare media, stains, reagents, and other solutions used in laboratory testing.
• Analyze and record test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality control parameters.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain automated, non‑automated, and computerized laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control checks on equipment and participate in system calibrations.
• Collect specimens from patients such as blood and transport to laboratory.
• Maintain compliance with lab safety, OSHA accreditation, and regulatory agencies.
• Support DMC values by demonstrating teamwork, communication, innovation, and resource efficiency.

DMC University Laboratories (DMCUL) offers a student lab tech position where the candidate will perform routine clinical laboratory tests, manage specimen records, prepare reagents, and support laboratory operations under close supervision.
