Baptist Health Arkansas is seeking a Student Medical Technologist to conduct medical laboratory tests under supervision. You will prepare samples and perform tests, interpreting the results to aid clinicians in their decisions.
Candidates must be juniors or seniors in a Bachelor of Science program in Medical Technology, or have a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in an accredited program. Strong language, math, and reasoning skills are required.
Student Medical Technologists provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses under the supervision of a Medical Technologist. The Student Medical Technologist's job includes preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing tests and accurately interpreting the results in a timely manner in order to enable the clinician to utilize the data when making treatment decisions.
Be a junior or senior in a program granting a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or has a Bachelor's degree and is enrolled in a nationally accredited Medical Technology program which will award a certificate in Medical Technology upon successful completion. Must possess language, math, and reasoning skills which allow for the analysis, interpretation, and valid conclusion to be made during data collection and during mechanical or scientific procedures. Must be able to effectively present gathered data orally or in writing to management or regulatory agencies.
