Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking student hourly staff for the Kenneth Spencer Research Library's Manuscripts Processing Team. You will physically arrange and describe historical collections to make them accessible, handling primary sources and creating inventories.

The role emphasizes following complex directions, independent work, and a minimum 9 hours per week in shifts during 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Training and professional development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to maintain a schedule with at least 9 hours per week.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Housing and inventorying manuscript collections.
• Support special projects (recycling, archival supply management, and other duties).
