Job summary

Ithaca College seeks a part-time Makerspace Technology Specialist to staff the IC Makerspace and Digital Media Lab. You will assist users, run workshops, and help maintain equipment in a creative, hands-on learning environment on campus.

Hourly pay is $16.00, with roughly 8–12 hours per week overall, including weekday blocks. Location is Friends Hall 102 and Job 102. Training is provided by the team.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a student at Ithaca College.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with supervisor.
• Comfort using Teams for coordination and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist IC Makerspace and Digital Media Lab users with projects and learning.
• Teach basic operation of equipment: sewing machines, Cricut, power tools, 3D printing, laser cutting.
• Prepare digital files for laser/Cricut cutting and 3D printing; assist in workshops.
• Schedule and run sessions and events based on space needs and interests.
• Manage reservations for photo/video equipment in the Digital Media Lab.
• Support podcast and photo studios and virtual reality setups.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and safety protocols; report issues to supervisor.
