Job summary

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Financial Specialist - Hybrid to oversee student loan fund accounting, including Banner integration, reporting, and fund projections. The role manages 100 Perkins/HRSA/institutional loan funds across campuses, ensuring high-dollar balances are accurate and compliant.

You will work under the Director of Business Operations to support business operations and receivables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
• Two years of professional business, financial, or managerial work experience.
• Experience in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of Banner or higher education finance systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare required annual federal reports, including Perkins FISAP and HRSA reporting.
• Prepare quarterly financial reports on the student loan portfolio for UAFR.
• Reconcile refunds issued from student and general accounts receivable.
• Manage daily accounts receivable data processing within Banner and feeder data portals.
• Coordinate returned check processes and NSF communications.
• Verify monthly loan disbursements and borrower payments between Banner and loan servicer; research discrepancies.
• Manage and reconcile holding accounts for loan payments and adjustments.
• Coordinate monthly reconciliations for federal and university-funded loan funds.
• Analyze available funds monthly and provide projections to Financial Aid.
• Support closeout activities for the federal Perkins Loan program.
