Position Purpose

Monitor and supervise the pool facilities, enforcing policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Monitor and enforce pool rules and policies.
• Keep the facility clean and organized.
• Know the facility's emergency action plan and how to engage it.
• Perform lifesaving duties when needed.
• Answer patrons' questions and follow up on requests.
• Assist with the opening and closing of the facility as needed.
• Attend all scheduled meetings.
• Maintain a good level of physical fitness.
• Respond to medical emergencies; perform first aid and use proper lifesaving equipment and techniques.
• Provide customer service to patrons, including handling conflict and complaints.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good oral and written communication skills, along with quality interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the school's pool rules and policies.
• Ability to adapt to emergency situations.
• Swimming ability.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a lifeguard certification before applying.
