Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Student Lifeguard for the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and RPAC Natatorium. The role involves supervising safety, enforcing rules, and guiding participants to safe behavior in a dynamic aquatic environment.

Requirements include current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED-PR, and First Aid certifications, plus completion of new hire evaluations and skills checks. Flexible hours include mornings, nights, weekends and some holidays.

Qualifications

• Possess current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED-PR, and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety, rescue, and care of all patrons in and around the pool during operation.
• Maintain facility security and readiness of safety equipment.
• Enforce facility rules and policies as outlined in the Aquatic Staff Manual.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning; assist with pool configuration changes and event transitions.
