Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Experience preferred but not required.
  • Possession of (or eligible for) a valid regular Mississippi teaching certificate.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Mathematical skills include basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Prepares lessons that reflect accommodations for individual differences.
  • Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by MDE and the district.
  • Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies and materials reflecting individual needs.
  • Conducts assessment of student learning styles and uses results for instructional activities.
  • Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students.
  • Cooperates with staff to plan and implement instructional goals and methods.
  • Uses technologies in the teaching/learning process.
  • Assists students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.
  • Maintains records, prepares progress reports, and communicates with parents and students.
