Job summary

Entergy invites students to join the Environmental Project Services team as a Summer 2027 Intern. The role supports development and implementation processes to ensure environmental regulatory compliance and sustainable performance across Entergy’s projects.

Responsibilities include analyzing laws, preparing reports and permits, and assisting with training and due diligence. The position offers hybrid work in Little Rock, AR and travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering.
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale, verified via official transcript.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to conduct field environmental investigations and multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze environmental laws/regulations and develop company perspectives.
  • Support preparation/submittal of environmental reports and permits.
  • Assist with environmental training and regulatory compliance tasks.
  • Coordinate with project teams/vendors for information requests.
  • Prepare concise summaries for management/agencies and support due diligence for real estate projects.
  • Identify and support process improvements and regulatory needs.

Job Summary/Purpose

Responsible forsupporting theEnterpriseEnvironmental Services team with thedevelopment and implementation of processesrequiredto ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.This role will provide support to Entergy’s growth strategythrough proactive engagement and environmental risk management.This role willhelp Entergy achieve its sustainability goals by driving world class performance in environmental management, approvals management, regulatorycomplianceand related programs

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Assistin analyzing existing, proposed andnewly-adoptedenvironmental laws,regulationsand policies, developing regulatory guidance, preparing company perspectivesin order tohelp operationalize requirements, communicating potential issues and opportunities internally and externally in support of compliance and continuous improvement

Support the preparation, review, and submittal of environmental reports,plansand permit applications

Assistwith preparation and presentation of environmental training

Assistplants in ensuring regulatory compliance, assessing compliance performance, and developing action plans for continuous improvement

Conductdesktop environmental impact evaluations ofEntergyprojects including:

Areviewapplicable information from Maximo or other project information.

Coordination with project contacts/vendors for information requests.

Initial desktop ecological impact evaluations to identify permit acquisition needs associated with applicable environmental regulations (air, water, storm water general/industrial permit, wetlands, natural resources, local/county)

SupportPhase I and II due diligence investigations associated with real estate transactions.

Identifyand/or providesupport totechnological/ process improvements.

Communicateissues by presentations and writing and distributing concise,timelyandaccuratesummaries, reviewing routine reports forproject management and leadership,and negotiating with state/federal agencies on the Company’s behalf to arrive at a favorable solution.

Minimum educationrequiredfor the position

Candidates must be actively enrolled in pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or another science-related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.

Applicantmust be physically able to conduct field environmental investigations of sites where access may be restricted due to debris accumulations. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting. Strong attention to details. Strong analytical skills. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.Self starterand requires little or no supervision. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products. Excellent organizational skills, ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments. Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities. Willing and able to perform other unrelated duties asrequiredand learn new processes and technologies. Knowledge of power generation fundamentals a plus.
