Stanley Consultants, Inc. invites applications for a Construction Cost Estimator Intern in Muscatine, IA. This onsite internship focuses on developing and checking cost estimates for architectural, civil, industrial, institutional, federal, and utility projects.

Responsibilities include prepares take-offs, cost breakdowns, and submittal packages; collects historical cost data; coordinates with vendors; and reviews final estimates with the estimating department for project progress and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor's degree program for architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

• Works with the estimating department to keep projects progressing efficiently.
• Attends off-site and in-office meetings with clients and estimating staff.

Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Construction Cost Estimator Intern for our Muscatine, IA office. This position develops and checks cost estimates for a variety of architectural, civil, industrial, institutional, federal, and utility type projects.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Prepares material take-offs and reviews take-offs of others from planning documents or engineering drawings.
• Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.
• Prepares the submittal package including basis of estimate, quantity backup, cost data and estimate.
• Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data for the development of future estimates.
• Contact vendors and suppliers for current material costs.
• Prepares and/or reviews final Engineer's estimate.
• Working knowledge of general construction practices and processes.
• Work with the estimating department to assure that projects are progressing ahead in an effective and efficient manner.
• Attend off site and in office meetings as required to coordinate efforts with external clients and internal estimating staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Enrolled in bachelor's degree program for architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
