Job summary

Stephen F. Austin State University seeks a Student Housing Operations Assistant to support daily maintenance in residence halls and with equipment. You will assist with building operations, painting, plumbing, and related duties under close supervision.

Looking for a minimum of 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm. A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during fall or spring, and three or more for summer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general office and clerical procedures and concepts.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and files.
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Performs general housing operations and maintenance duties.
• Prepares surfaces for painting.
• Applies various types of paint to machinery, equipment, furniture, building interiors, and/or building exteriors.
• Performs general plumbing maintenance and/or repairs.
• May perform work in varying environmental conditions including summer heat, winter cold, wind, rain, and/or humidity.
