The University of Kansas is seeking a motivated social media content creator and communications support for the School of Education & Human Sciences. The role focuses on writing, photos, and short videos for daily posts, campaigns, and community engagement across digital channels on Lawrence campus.
Ideal candidates will have coursework or work experience in social media, digital marketing, and basic photography/video skills.
Position OverviewThe School of Education & Human Sciences is looking for a creative, curious and organized individual to help tell our stories across multiple digital channels, including social media, websites, blogs, and other platforms. This person will play a key role in shaping the voice and creative direction of the School’s social media presence, engaging our audiences through original day-to-day content and community management, contributing to digital marketing planning and campaign strategy, tracking our success over time through analytics reporting, and supporting the overall strategy of the marketing and recruitment team. You will bring fresh ideas for social media campaigns and initiatives with the goal of engaging current and prospective students.
This is a fast-paced role that will require a mix of writing, photos and short videos and content creation using social media app functions. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media and knowledgeable with digital marketing trends. They should be comfortable collaborating in team settings, and will have experience in creative writing or digital media content creation. They will share two examples of work demonstrating these qualities. This position requires a person that is highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills.

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
