Job OverviewThe
Student Guard Program Manager, reporting to the Lieutenant, Special Operations, directly supervises the student guards, supervisors, rovers and student SafeRide dispatchers and drivers - as well as recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll for the program. They also assist Special Operations and Support Services divisions with other assignments and projects.
Assigned hours include weekday, evening and weekend shifts.

Student Guard Program Manager responds to and often anticipates the needs of the student guards employed during the academic year regardless of the circumstances - requiring leadership, flexibility, commitment - and the ability to react promptly and effectively under pressure.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
- At least 2 years of student group involvement, recruitment and hiring experiences, including supervisory experience
- Ability to supervise, evaluate, manage, and motivate student guards. Possess diplomacy, courteous demeanor and pleasant personality in order to deal with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Willingness and availability to work extended, odd, or off hours to achieve the expectations of the Department - including as need rotating tours of duty (day shifts, evening shifts, overnight shifts) with fluctuating days off in accordance with departmental needs
Preferred qualifications- Knowledge of technology applications is preferred, including use of various computer hardware and software systems
- Demonstrated leadership in a higher education environment
