Job summary

Antioch University in Keene, NH, seeks student coordinators for the Community Garden Connections (CGC) initiative. The role supports local garden sites, collaborates with nonprofits, and develops community education projects addressing food justice and resiliency. Positions are available for work-study or non-work-study students.

You will co-coordinate sites, maintain beds, and participate in budgeting and procurement while working with CGC Co-Coordinators and faculty to meet deliverables.

Qualifications

• Strong project management, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to have fun planning, preparing, and gardening with local organizations.
• Works well with a variety of people.
• Self-directed and motivated to move the project forward.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• Familiarity with gardening, food justice, environmental education, culturally responsive education, grant writing and/or evaluation experience preferred though not required.

Responsibilities

• Foster relationships with assigned CGC garden sites and assist at other sites where needed.
• Collaborate with local nonprofits and Monadnock Region organizations engaged in related work.
• Creatively pursue service projects addressing community-identified interests and CGC's mission.
• Design, implement and evaluate educational workshops aligned with interests.
• Assist other co-coordinators in their responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in maintaining garden beds at sites as needed by partner organizations.
• Provide fiscal support including budget management, inventory and procurement of supplies.
