Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Lead Student Worker to supervise, train, and manage the food operation at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. You will help ensure the right quantities of food are prepared and served, while directing daily activities and maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will work with staff to promote teamwork, mentor food service workers, and cover shifts for catering events as needed.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program.
• Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must be a student at the Aramark location.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain work schedules and may prepare production records.
• Direct daily activities.
• Maintain food production that ensures safety and quality according to policies and department requirements.
• Ensure safe, organized, hazard-free storage of food items.
• Maintain serving schedules and ensure items meet menu specs and safety policies.
• Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes.
• Maintain inventory on a weekly basis.
• May prepare orders to ensure accurate production for location.
• Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel; promote growth and teamwork.
• Maintain safe working environment and mentor other workers.
• Keep logs on maintenance for equipment and perform preventative maintenance checklist.
• Recommend replacement of equipment to meet facility needs.
• Be able to multi-task and support catering events as needed.
