As a Student Financial Services Specialist at Galen College of Nursing, you will provide information, guidance, and assistance regarding various types of financial assistance, including, but not limited to federal financial aid, state aid, workforce agencies, employer payments, and VA benefits, to facilitate the enrollment, persistence, and completion of students, consistent with the College's mission.
Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience: Experience working with Federal Financial Aid programs preferred, but not required. Experience working with customer financial accounts preferred, but not required.
Skills: Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects while meeting deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times. Must be a team player by assisting and encouraging other Galen employees.
Special Qualifications: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Must be able to secure access to all Department of Education websites, including, but not limited to NSLDS, COD, CPS, etc. Candidates should have no prior history of student loan default.
Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to sit at a computer desk for eight hours each day. Must be available to work flexible schedule to include some evenings and occasional weekends.
