Job summary

Herzing University in the United States is seeking a financial aid administrator to perform high-level customer service with working knowledge of financial aid, student accounts and registrar regulations. The role involves meeting with new students to understand funding needs and guiding FAFSA completion, reviewing eligibility for funding options, and finalizing financial aid awards.

The position requires excellent communication, strong organization, and 1–3 years Title IV administration

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 Years of Title IV administration experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Revise financial aid award packages due to updates such as changes in course schedules, approved breaks, eligibility changes, and other factors.
• Troubleshoot disbursement rejects and resolve factors preventing timely disbursement of funding.
• Dedication to continuous improvement especially in the areas of student satisfaction and accuracy.
• Demonstrate all aspects of the PRICE of Success.
• Meet with new students to understand funding needs, provide guidance on completion of the FAFSA and required documents, and review eligibility for funding options including Federal Title IV funds, scholarships, state funding, and military funds.
• Utilize financial aid software to review student documents and eligibility criteria to finalize financial aid awards.
• Provide gap funding options to students and support students in determining the best option to meet their financial needs and support their educational goals.
• Counsel students on financial literacy and wellness topics for the purpose of educating and encouraging responsible borrowing practices.
• Manage a student caseload, striving to build relationships and support students in resolving all matters related to their financial aid funding.
• Perform regular outreach to students requiring action including needed documents, loan acceptance, and past due balances.
