Job summary

Campbell University in North Carolina seeks a Financial Aid Counselor to be the primary contact for undergraduate and graduate students, evaluating aid applications and counseling on federal, state, and institutional aid options.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in higher education desired.
  • Experience in Admissions or Financial Aid desired.
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague desired.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel prospective and returning students on all aspects of Federal, State, and Institutional Aid sources.
  • Package and award financial aid (scholarships, work‑study, grants, loans, etc) in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Admissions, Registrar, Bursar) to support student enrollment and retention.
  • Understand Bursar Office processes to effectively communicate to current students.
  • Participate in outreach activities such as conducting financial aid presentations in person, virtually and via chat room platform.
  • Review and resolve C‑Flag issues from FSA.
  • Maintain responsibility for a specific program area such as scholarships, state aid, verification, loans, athletics, etc.
  • Assist in processing Cost of Attendance adjustments requests for students.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including FERPA and other guidelines.
