Job summary

Kid Power, Inc. seeks a Student & Family Engagement Service Member to support elementary students across after-school, tutoring, and summer programs. You will rotate across classrooms, support instructors, and assist families with program orientation and resources.

The role emphasizes in‑person, day-long engagement, curriculum preparation, and maintaining welcoming, safe learning environments while collaborating with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Passion for working with elementary-aged youth and supporting their development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community members.
  • Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to take initiative while following program guidance.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic computer applications.
  • Willingness to travel between offices, schools, and community locations.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate across classrooms to provide student support and strengthen daily program implementation.
  • Assist instructors with facilitation of academic and SEL activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support.
  • Reinforce routines, relationship skills, and self-management.
  • Support transitions and independent work.
  • Help organize and distribute program materials.
  • Participate in AmeriCorps supervision and training.
  • Attend family engagement activities and community events.
  • Record attendance and notes in Kid Power systems.
