Student Experience Lead (Part-Time) Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore Location: Salisbury, Maryland Schedule: Part-Time (20-30 Hours Per Week)

Position Summary

The Student Experience Lead serves as the day-to-day facilitator of the JA Center programs and plays a critical role in creating exceptional learning experiences for students, educators, volunteers, and guests. This position combines educational facilitation, customer service, public speaking, staff leadership, and operational coordination. The ideal candidate is highly energetic, naturally outgoing, and passionate about working with people. They can confidently engage a room, build positive relationships, and create an environment where students feel excited, welcomed, and inspired to participate.

Core Responsibilities
Learning Experience Leadership
  • Facilitate daily simulation operations and learning experience modules.
  • Prepare learning spaces, materials, and technology.
  • Coordinate daily operational needs with the Education Team.
  • Welcome students, educators, volunteers, and visitors with exceptional customer service and professionalism.
  • Troubleshoot operational and program challenges as they arise.
  • Ensure simulations experiences run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance program quality and participant experiences.
Student Engagement & Experience
  • Facilitate high-energy, interactive learning experiences that encourage participation, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
  • Utilize strong communication, facilitation, storytelling, and public speaking skills to keep students engaged.
  • Build positive connections and an inclusive environment for students.
  • Proactively adapt facilitation approaches as needed to improve engagement.
  • Empower educators and volunteers to maintain productive learning environments, recognizing that school personnel retain primary responsibility for student discipline and behavioral intervention.
  • Seek opportunities to create moments that inspire students and reinforce JA's mission and reputation as the leader in career-connected experiential learning.
Staff Leadership & Development
  • Reinforce the goal of providing positive, high-quality experiences through day-to-day leadership, onboarding, coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Model exceptional professionalism, hospitality, and participant engagement.
  • Support staff development in communication and customer service skills.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate daily assignments for part-time staff supporting simulations and learning experiences.
  • Communicate staffing needs and recommendations to the Education Manager.
Operations & Facility Management
  • Maintain high standards of organization, attention to detail, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure the JA Center, learning spaces, equipment, materials, and technology remain clean, safe, organized, and ready for use.
  • Support implementation of learning experiences, events, and community engagement activities both within and outside the JA Center.
  • Monitor inventory of materials, supplies, technology, and simulation resources.
  • Manage the JA Center’s technological learning systems, operate audio-visual systems effectively, and coordinate resolution of any issues as needed.
Qualifications Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with middle school and high school students.
  • Experience facilitating or leading groups.
  • Experience in education, youth development, nonprofit programs, hospitality, customer experience, event coordination, or related fields.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move efficiently throughout the JA Center for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events and programming.
Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Education Manager and works closely with the Education Team, part-time staff, volunteers, educators, and community partners.
