Job summary

The Community College of Allegheny County seeks a Student Engagement Specialist to support student life at Boyce Campus. This student-funded full-time role enhances the student experience by developing, coordinating, and implementing programs that promote growth and engagement across campus.

Responsibilities include event planning, budget oversight, advising student organizations, marketing, and building an inclusive, vibrant campus culture through clubs, cultural activities, and partnerships

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) with at least one year related experience.

  • Administrative and Budget Support: process forms and monitor budgets.
  • Program Management and Student Support: administer student programs and provide guidance.

  • Marketing and Outreach: create promotional materials and raise awareness.

Student Engagement Specialist (Student Funded FT)
  • Position Title: Student Engagement Specialist (Student Funded FT)
  • Employment Type: Student Funded Full-Time

  • Salary Grade: Admin 12 - $46,390
  • Remote Work Option: Fully In-Person (May be subject to change)
  • Additional Information: This position will remain open until filled. Please submit your application by 7/28/26.
  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; additional hours may be required.
  • General Summary: Enhances student experience by developing, coordinating, and implementing programs and services that support student growth and promote engagement. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to build a vibrant, inclusive campus culture through activities, clubs, cultural initiatives, and more.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred); minimum one year related experience.
Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of social media, graphic design platforms, and general technology, including Microsoft Office.
  • Good interpersonal communication, people, and leadership skills.
  • Experience coordinating student programs, advising student organizations, and publishing for university student newspaper or publicity.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing, public relations, club organizations, and/or athletics.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Technologically literate.

  • Knowledge of organization and general office operations, services, procedures, policies; financial rules, regulations, laws, etc.; ability to multitask, adhere to budgets, insurance regulations.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.

Duties
  • 1. Event and Activity Coordination:
    • Manage and coordinate student life events across campuses.
    • Develop and maintain a master schedule of college‑wide events.
    • Oversee event logistics and coordination with stakeholders.
  • 2. Administrative and Budget Support:
    • Process and manage forms, documentation, and financial oversight for events and clubs.
    • Monitor student organization budgets.
    • Assist with reports and other administrative tasks.
  • 3. Program Management and Student Support:
    • Administer student affairs programs, including budget monitoring, policy development, and evaluation.
    • Serve as a resource to student groups, offering guidance on event planning and resource acquisition.
  • 4. Student Engagement and Community Building:
    • Develop strategies to enhance student participation.
    • Foster a safe, inclusive, supportive environment.
    • Support clubs, activities, and cultural events.
  • 5. Training and Advising:
    • Provide training and guidance to student club leaders.
    • Support creation of new clubs and advise on compliance.
  • 6. Marketing and Outreach:
    • Produce and manage promotional materials (brochures, flyers, social media, website).
    • Use various communication channels to ensure awareness.
  • 7. Program Development and Evaluation:
    • Track and assess engagement, attendance, and participation.
    • Develop workshops, webinars, learning opportunities.
  • 8. Information Management and Communication:
    • Serve as resource for students, staff, faculty on programming and policies.
    • Provide up‑to‑date information and presentations.
  • 9. Other duties as required.
