Miami University is seeking a Coordinator of Student Engagement to support a broad range of programs that connect student involvement with academic success. The role focuses on student organizations, leadership development, service opportunities, and orientation activities.

The position emphasizes data-informed programming, collaboration with campus partners, and ongoing assessment to improve persistence and graduation outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required upon appointment; experience in event programming/coordination, and/or community service programming/coordination, and/or orientation programming/coordination.
• Master’s degree may be considered; related field experience and strong collaboration skills are valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee student organization recognition, finances, compliance, and support for recruitment, programming, and assessment.
• Develop and implement student leadership programs and training for student leaders and organization advisors.
• Coordinate community service and civic engagement opportunities with campus and community partners.
• Plan and execute campus-wide programs (e.g., Welcome Weeks, Fall Fest, Get Involved Fair, Transfer Student Week).
• Advise student programming boards and support student-led events.
• Promote involvement opportunities through outreach, communications, and social media.
• Collaborate on student orientation programs, including advising and transition support.
• Collect, analyze, and report data on student engagement, retention, and program outcomes; use insights to improve programming and demonstrate impact on persistence and graduation rates.
