Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Neurology seeks a Student END Technologist to support the Electromyography (EMG) lab. You will assist with patient transport, histories, and nerve conduction studies, and present findings to physicians.

The position is a part-time student role with a pay rate of $15/hour, weekdays 7:30am–5:30pm, up to 20 hours per week during academic terms and up to 40 hours during breaks. This is based in Iowa City, IA.

Qualifications

• Current participation in a 24-month END Technology program or other applicable program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience with nerve conduction is desired.

Responsibilities

• Escorting patients to and from examination rooms.
• Taking patient histories.
• Performing nerve conduction studies using electroneurodiagnostic equipment.
• Presenting study results to physicians for review.
• Resetting examination rooms between patients.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned

Rate of pay: $15/hour

Schedule: Weekdays between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm, schedule is flexible and determined with supervisor upon hire. Maximum 20 hours per week during the academic semesters, 40 hours per week during breaks.
