Job Details: Job Location: Emory Campus - Emory, VA, Position Type: Full Time Staff, Education Level: 4 Year Degree, Salary Range: $37000.00 - $42000.00Salary/year, Job Category: Education, The Student Employment and Career Center Event Coordinator will provide extensive administration and program management for the student employment program at Emory & Henry University through the van Vlissingen Center for Career & professional Development as well as the planning, coordination, and implementation of events of the center. The position will support the mission to redefine, develop, and lead a multifaceted program with the goal of increasing the opportunities of students through the student employment program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain student employment records in order for student employees to receive earnings.
- Process and monitor all program requirements for student employment administration on-campus, including Federal Work Study, employment verifications, and other documents related to student employment.
- Monitor compliance with State and Federal regulations for student employment which includes verification of work permits associated with I-9s, W-4s, VA-4, etc.
- Uploading student employment records and utilization of Paycom and Handshake to manage programs.
- Interface with campus stakeholders including Financial Aid, the Business Office, and Informational Technology as needed to ensure program compliance.
- Utilize Handshake CRM to assist Student Employment Supervisors in posting student employment positions on campus, review submitted job descriptions and insure proper recruiting
- Direct the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to student employment efforts.
- Maintain email communications with students and campus partners. Assist with customer service efforts in the office including answering phone calls and greeting walk-in visitors as needed.
- Oversee all student workers at the Career Center, including management of their time cards, the work-study budget, and other associated supervisory duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned related to student employment and the organization and management of career center events.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Competency:
- Demonstrated proficiency of computer programs to include Google Productivity Suite, Word, Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, proven ability to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external constituencies at all times with diplomacy and tact.
- Strong customer service focus, with the ability to problem solve, work independently, use sound judgement and discernment to situations that require escalation to departmental leadership.
- Highly organized with an attention to detail that results in accuracy in daily work, with the proven ability to handle multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully as an individual contributor and work constructively as a dedicated team player.
Preferred Qualification:
- Knowledge of CRM databases including such platforms as Handshake and Paycom.
- Previous experience working in a college career center or other higher education administrative office.
- Previous customer service and administrative support experience.
- Ability to learn new applications quickly.
- Knowledge of student employment programs in higher education.
