Job summary

SEU is seeking student workers for the Maintenance department for the 2026-2027 school year (Fall). Returning Southeastern University students are preferred, with freshmen encouraged to apply. The position is part-time and hours will be set to fit the academic schedule and campus needs.

Responsibilities include basic repairs with hand tools, debris removal, and operating SEU golf carts. Work is based on the Lakeland Main Campus and reports to the Access Control Manager/Director of Maintenance

Qualifications

  • Part-time availability and scheduling aligned with academic calendar.
  • Experience with Google Suite required; prior admin/clerical experience preferred.

Job description

SEU's Maintenance department is seeking student workers for the 2026-2027 school year (Fall). Applicants must be a returning southeastern University student (freshmen are encouraged to apply) and available to work a part-time schedule. Please note that this job will be open until positions are filled.Total hours accumulated cannot exceed 29 hours for regular students and 20 for international students.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to:Access Control Manager/Director of Maintenance Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES -May include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Use small hand tools for minor repairs
  • Remove debris and trash
  • Drive SEU golf carts and other maintenance vehicles to perform duties.
  • Maintain all areas of campus as deemed by the Director of Maintenance Operations
  • Provide support to campus functions
  • Perform any task required by the Director of Maintenance Operations.

ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

SAFETY

SCREENING

All full-time and some part-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University’s insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
