Job summary

JobTailor is seeking a student engineer to assist on Electrical and Instrumentation projects, including feasibility studies and FEED. You will support PLC/SIS field activities during maintenance, testing, commissioning, and start-up.

Responsibilities cover data collection, equipment specification, and engineering package reviews while contributing to preventive maintenance and reliability investigations. A co-op or internship program is required for duration of the work term.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. full-time for the duration of the work term and able to provide documentation (visa).
  • Available to begin work in September 2026.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Solid analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be enrolled in an Electrical/Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering degree or related program and returning to full-time studies; or registered in an accredited co-op/internship program.
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

  • Assist with Electrical and Instrumentation projects, including feasibility studies, FEED, data collection, equipment specification, redlines/update drawings/documents, scope of work development, and engineering package review.
  • Provide Electrical, Instrumentation, PLC, and SIS field support for maintenance, troubleshooting, construction, testing, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Streamline preventive maintenance optimization, report review, work package development, and work notification generation for corrective actions.
  • Assist with PLC and SIS troubleshooting, engineering, programming, and loop checks.
  • Assist with reliability studies and failure investigations.

Job description

  • Must be enrolled in an Electrical/Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related Engineering degree at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
