Job summary

Westminster College’s National Churchill Museum invites applications for a Student Assistant in Education & America’s National Churchill Museum. This campus employment supports the Education Department and the Museum by developing engaging educational activities for K-12 students and assisting with school visits.

You will lead guided tours, design learning experiences, and help with materials, outreach, and program preparation, gaining hands-on museum education and public-speaking experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Education Department faculty and the Museum Director to develop engaging, age-appropriate educational activities for K-12 students.
• Design interactive learning experiences that connect museum exhibits to Missouri Learning Standards and best practices in teaching and learning.
• Assist in planning and implementing educational programs for school groups and community visitors.
• Lead guided tours of the National Churchill Museum for K-12 students, college groups, and community visitors.
• Facilitate hands-on learning stations, educational games, and inquiry-based activities that encourage student engagement.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials and activity supplies.
• Assist with special events hosted by the Museum and Education Department.
• Help evaluate educational activities by gathering participant feedback and making recommendations for improvement.
• Support outreach efforts by assisting with educational resources, promotional materials, and program preparation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Museum Director or Education Department faculty.
