Job summary

Blackrock Baptist Church in Yulee, Florida invites a part-time Student Director to lead and disciple middle and high school students through biblical teaching, relational ministry, and outreach. The role reports to the Senior Pastor and is an in-person, flexible schedule position.

The person will plan weekly gatherings, develop discipleship pathways, mentor students, handle budgets, and coordinate events with adult leaders, while aligning with church mission and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a fruit bearing lifestyle.
• Strong communication, teaching, and relational skills.
• Solid understanding of the Bible, core doctrines, and basic apologetics.
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead ministry activities and Student Leaders.
• Desire to create a discipleship culture.
• Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and mission of Blackrock Baptist.
• Seminary training preferred but not required.
• Servants heart and love for people.
• Maintain a humble and teachable spirit.
• Relational, approachable, and able to connect with students and adults.
• Growing sense of calling to Pastoral or Ministry Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead Wednesday evening student ministry gatherings including teaching, worship coordination, small groups, and fellowship.
• Develop discipleship pathways that help students grow and reproduce in biblical knowledge, spiritual maturity, and Christlike character.
• Build relationships with students through presence, mentoring, and consistent engagement.
• Faithfully help to develop, oversee and steward the Student ministry budget.
• Plan and lead events, camp, retreat, and Acts 1:8 outreach/mission opportunities with other adult leaders.
• Communicate with parents to support spiritual development and keep families informed.
• Collaborate with pastoral staff to align student ministry with the church’s mission and vision.
• Maintain safe, organized, and welcoming environments for all student activities.
• Work collaboratively with other ministries to implement and clear path for Spiritual Growth.
• Uphold and model biblical integrity, humility, and servant leadership.
• Establish trusting relationships with an active presence on Middle/High School campuses.
• Recruit and train adult leaders proportionate to student attendance.
• Seek out training and development opportunities.
• This position can grow into a full-time position over time with growth of the ministry.
• Support vision of Sr Pastor and mission of Blackrock Baptist Church.
