Job summary

OSU-Cascades in Bend, Oregon is hiring a Student Dining Services Assistant to learn food service fundamentals while building customer service, teamwork, and food preparation skills. You will work 10–24 hours per week, scheduled around classes, with opportunities to cross-train in Study Grounds and EDGE Catering.

Training is provided, and perks include provided work shirt and hat. You will contribute to a positive campus dining experience, serving Beaver Dam, Study Grounds, and EDGE Catering

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a student (HS/college/university) during employment period.
• No prior food service experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Ability to work 10–24 hours per week around class schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, serve and replenish food on the service line in The Beaver Dam dining hall while following food safety standards
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service for students, faculty, staff, and guests
• Operate POS systems and accurately process cash and credit transactions
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety across dining areas
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine cleaning tasks
• Work with teammates to deliver a positive dining experience in a fast-paced environment
• Support EDGE Catering events, including setup and breakdown
• Stock, rotate, and restock supplies across service areas
• Work across Dining Services locations as needed
