Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Appendix F - Extra Duty/Non-Coaching position at Kimball Middle School. The role focuses on building and maintaining a high-quality student council, emphasizing student-centered activities, involvement, and opportunities for students.

You will oversee communication with families and staff, organize meetings, coordinate fundraising and service opportunities, and manage finances for the organization while promoting a positive school culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education preferred.
  • PEL license preferred.
  • High School Diploma required; related coursework and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, administrators, teachers, and community leaders.
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior and motivate students to reach their potential.
  • Maintain equipment associated with the activity.
  • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
  • Create an environment conducive to the social, physical, and emotional development of students.
  • Foster a positive, harassment-free culture with constructive feedback.
  • Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities through safety practices.
  • Apply and enforce student discipline per the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
  • Host bi-weekly Student Council meetings.
  • Coordinate fundraisers and service opportunities.
  • Provide 100 student contact hours through meetings and events.
  • Coordinate four school events during the year.
  • Manage finances and administrative paperwork for the organization.
  • Participate in Spirit Week activities.
  • Supervise students while waiting for rides.

Function / Position Summary

To build and maintain a high-quality student council organization, focusing on student-centered activities, building involvement, and providing opportunities for students.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, administrators, teacher colleagues, and community leaders.
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior and motivate students to work to their highest potential.
  • Maintain equipment associated with the activity.
  • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
  • Create an environment appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Cultivate a positive, harassment free culture which motivates students through the use of effective communication and constructive feedback.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Apply and enforce student discipline in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and appropriate student handbook.
  • Bi-Weekly Student Council Meetings.
  • Coordinate one fundraiser and two service opportunities.
  • 100 student contact hours (meetings and events).
  • Coordination of four school events over the course of the school year, possibly in conjunction with the Tier 1 Team.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback, and to conduct conferences as needed with parents, students, administrators, or other teachers.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, inquiries, and/or complaints.

Physical Demands
  • Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, or carry heavy materials or equipment.
  • Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
Terms of Employment
  • This is an Appendix F stipend position in accordance with the school year calendar.
  • For Non-ETA coaches, this position is for this year only.
  • Terms of employment will be determined in collaboration with the middle school athletic/activity director and building administration.
