Job summary

Coastal Carolina University’s University Marketing and Communication team is seeking a motivated student communication assistant to support institutional storytelling, media relations, and strategic marketing and communications efforts.

This position provides hands‑on experience in higher education communications while working alongside professionals to share the stories, achievements, and impact of the Coastal Carolina University community.

Qualifications

• Current CCU student majoring in a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and polished content.
• Ability to tailor writing for different audiences and channels.
• Strong organization and ability to manage deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with media relations research, materials, and inquiries.
• Write and edit content for news releases, website stories, social media, and newsletters.
• Conduct interviews with students, faculty, staff, and partners.
• Fact-check and proofreading of communications materials.
• Support events, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
• Identify opportunities to showcase student and campus achievements.
• Collaborate on campaigns and special projects.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.
