Cenovus Energy invites motivated students for a multi-discipline co-op/internship program in Lima, Toledo, or Dublin, OH. Roles span chemical, mechanical, electrical/instrumentation, environmental, civil, accounting & finance, supply chain, logistics, and marketing operations.
Term is four months, with potential relocation assistance and mentorship from industry professionals. Applicants must be enrolled in a qualifying program and ready to start in September 2027.

Are you looking for an exciting Co-Op/Internship opportunity full of meaningful, diverse, and challenging assignments working alongside industry leading professionals? You will be part of a driven, and collaborative team completing important projects while receiving the mentorship, knowledge, and experience to develop the skills you need to build an exciting career. This posting is for all internship/co-op positions in Lima, Toledo, and Dublin, OH. Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to but they may include:
- Analyze process, environmental, and safety data to support performance improvements
- Assist with process monitoring, troubleshooting, and engineering projects
- Support EH&S and process safety compliance through audits and documentation
- Collaborate with teams to support operations, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Support equipment reliability through inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning
- Assist with equipment design, repairs, modifications, and capital projects
- Analyze operational and maintenance data to improve asset performance
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and vendors to execute projects safely and efficiently
- Support electrical and control system reliability through testing and troubleshooting
- Assist with the design, installation, and upgrade of electrical and instrumentation systems
- Collect and analyze data to support system performance and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to execute projects and field support
- Support accounting and financial reporting activities using SAP and other systems
- Assist with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
- Use Excel and analytical tools to develop reports and identify trends
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and performance evaluation
- Support procurement, sourcing, and contract management activities
- Analyze supply chain and inventory data to identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Assist with inventory control, material planning, and procure-to-pay processes
- Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to support projects and business objectives
- Support daily management of all Cenovus logistical functions including fleet planning, product scheduling, & inventory management
- Provide analytical support to better understand and articulate logistics movements, costs and performance
- Provide back‑up to pipeline, terminal, truck, and rail schedulers
- Develop standard reports and respond to data requests
- Participate in operational and planning meetings with the Logistics team and other functional groups
- Develop and maintain standard reports, ensuring timely and accurate responses to ad hoc data requests
- Enhance performance reporting for marketing, trading, and scheduling teams, improving data accessibility and actionable insights
- Automate report generation and data delivery, streamlining communication with key stakeholders and improving operational efficiency
- Support economic, pricing, and forecasting functions by providing data‑driven analysis to optimize decision‑making processes
- Conduct in‑depth market studies and analysis, identifying key trends and opportunities to inform business strategy
- Perform statistical analyses to provide valuable insights into business activities, supporting strategic planning and performance evaluation
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. full‑time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
- Available to begin work in September 2027.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision‑making skills.
- We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
Must be enrolled at an accredited post‑secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full‑time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post‑secondary co‑op or internship program for the duration of the work term. Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post‑secondary institution may also be considered. New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.

- A multi‑discipline program with meaningful, hands‑on work experience.
