Details | Department: Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Job Code: S804 Title: Student Clinical Lab Work Assistant Job Description: F.C. Blodi Eye Pathology Lab is looking for a currently-enrolled undergraduate student to support the lab with a combination of lab assistant and administrative tasks.This is an ongoing position beginning immediately and will include work during summer and academic breaks. Qualifications: Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions. Needs to be dependable and detail-oriented. Must be available to work during summer break. An interest in science is helpful. Please be aware this a position at a clinical lab, not a research lab. Lab Tasks: Preventative maintenance on lab equipment, retrieving specimens from hospital, logging specimens into computer system, cleaning lab equipment, washing dishes, and other tasks as assigned. Administrative Tasks: After daily lab duties are completed, assist with office tasks including filing, scanning, proofreading, database entry, running errands, answering phones, copying, faxing, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned. AFTERNOONS ONLY. Shifts are 2-4 hours long, with some flexibility between 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Applicant must be available from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
