Job summary

Chesapeake College is seeking a visionary Director of Financial Aid who can interpret financial aid policy with a focus on student success. The Director leads a team of three full-time professionals and work-study students, and partners with Admissions, Advising, Registration, the Foundation, and Academic Affairs to expand aid options and support enrollment.

The role includes reporting and compliance responsibilities, budget oversight, and collaboration with the Business Office to ensure cash

Qualifications

• Leadership of a financial aid team and staff supervision.
• Ability to interpret and apply federal and state policy for student success.
• Strong communication and public relations skills for outreach to students, families, and campus partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of federal Title IV programs, Maryland state scholarships, and institutional aid.
• Reconcile all federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs with regulatory requirements.
• Provide community-based financial aid counseling to students and families.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Advising, Registration, the Foundation, and Academic Affairs to support enrollment and scholarship funding.
• Produce data reports for internal and external stakeholders and ensure data transfers between systems.
