Job summary

San Diego State University Imperial Valley seeks a compassionate mental health clinician to join Counseling & Psychological Services. The role provides individual, group, couples, and family counseling, crisis intervention, trauma response, and campus outreach for a diverse student community.

You will collaborate with faculty and staff to expand access to resources, support student wellbeing, and contribute to a learning-centered campus environment.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in a psychology-related field.
• Current California licensure as a psychologist (PhD/PsyD), LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC; or eligibility for licensure in California.
• Demonstrated use of multicultural approaches with diverse clients.
• Experience with case management, brief interventions, crisis management, and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, couples and/or family counseling to students.
• Respond with crisis and suicide intervention and trauma response; refer and follow up as needed.
• Develop and deliver prevention education, workshops, and wellness initiatives.
• Consult with faculty, staff, administrators, families, and student organizations to coordinate support.
• Lead outreach efforts to increase awareness of counseling and mental health resources.
• Participate in professional development, program development, and campus committee work.
