Job summary

The Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio seeks a part-time Therapeutic Support Specialist to support the therapeutic school environment by ensuring staff have scheduled breaks while maintaining a safe, structured setting for students.

You will cover classrooms during breaks, support behavioral, social, and emotional needs, and collaborate with teachers and clinical staff to promote positive student outcomes throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and flexible in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled classroom coverage during breaks to support staff.
• Maintain classroom routines and supervise students in the absence of regular staff.
• Follow student behavior support plans and classroom procedures.
• Always ensure appropriate supervision of students.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and clinical staff to promote a positive learning environment.
• Assist with student transitions and engage students in activities.
• Report behavioral, safety, or student concerns to appropriate staff members.
