Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a School Bus Aide in Manchester to assist with loading and unloading students, securing restraints, and supervising riders during transit. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. CPR/First Aid training is preferred and confidentiality is essential.

Hours roughly 6:30–9:30 am and 1:45–4:45 pm; rate of pay per Master Agreement. Position emphasizes safety, care, and professional interaction with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to push/pull ~100 lbs. and lift ~50 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid training encouraged and may be required.
• Strong confidentiality and professional discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading of students from school bus, including the evacuation of bus
• Responsible to attend classes in CPR/First Aid and other training sessions as directed
• Appropriately secure harnesses/seat belts and wheelchairs with safety equipment
• Assist with student medical needs; including seizures
• Supervise and provide care for students on bus
• Collect and maintain data related to students' goals, objectives, medical or emotional needs
• Represent school district in a professional manner during interactions with students, school community and staff
• Additional duties as assigned
