Job summary

Sylvania is hiring a part-time bus aide to assist with student loading/unloading, safety monitoring, and basic care on the school bus. The role requires carrying out CPR/First Aid training as directed and maintaining professional interactions with the school community.

The position emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and reliable attendance during roughly six hours daily in school hours. Starting ASAP per posting; hours may align with the school calendar.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Flexible in scheduling, with emphasis on school hours.
• Crisis prevention training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading students from school bus and supervise seating safety.
• Attend CPR/First Aid and other training as directed.
• Secure harnesses/seat belts and wheelchairs with safety equipment.
• Assist with student medical needs and respond to seizures or emergencies.
• Supervise and provide care for students on the bus.
• Collect and maintain data related to students' goals and needs.
• Represent the district professionally during interactions with students and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
