Job summary

Springfield City School District in Springfield, Ohio is seeking a Bus Aide for the 2026-2027 school year to support transportation operations and student safety on daily routes. You will assist the bus driver with loading/unloading, monitor student behavior, and help maintain orderly and safe seating throughout the route.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to operate restraints and lifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain a State of Ohio Educational Aide's Certificate (acquired after employment).
• Demonstrate ability to operate vehicle restraints, lifts, and safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver with loading/unloading students and crosswalk safety.
• Lift students up to 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts and restraints.
• Monitor student behavior and assist with emergencies.
• Prepare written referrals or behavior reports and communicate with staff/parents.
• Maintain seating and route safety throughout the day.
