Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Resource Assistant to help develop and implement school wide behavior management programs and policies, and provide non-professional counseling to students. The role supports a safe, positive school environment and requires coordination with school staff and policy adherence.

Responsibilities include supervising students, recording progress, crisis management, and contributing to a constructive school culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year experience working with children and families, preferably in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe learning environment for students within Arrow Center for Education Schools policies and procedures.
• Supervises students in activities to observe or effect changes in social behavior and teach rules and manners.
• Develops counseling skills with emphasis on physical and emotional well-being of all students.
• Provides a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the school.
• Completes paperwork to record student progress, including Resource/Support Room documentation and Incident Reports.
• Participates as an active member of the Treatment Team, observing, evaluating and communicating information orally and in writing.
• Assists in crisis management and safe transitions to transportation providers.
• Contributes to development and maintenance of a positive school culture.
• Maintains safety and security of students and provides crisis intervention when necessary.
• Informs the Principal of all relevant situations and attends trainings and meetings as required.
