Job summary

University of Virginia Athletics is hiring an Assistant/Associate Director for Student Success to support football and other sport programs. The role focuses on academic progress, development resources, and coordinated support for student-athletes.

The position requires NCAA knowledge, a Master’s degree, and the ability to work evenings/weekends. Travel may be required; background checks will be performed. UVA is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience advising collegiate student-athletes.
• Knowledge of NCAA progress-toward-degree and eligibility rules.
• Ability to navigate academic bureaucracy and collaborate with faculty.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor student-athlete academic progress and coordinate services.
• Serve as academic coordinator for assigned teams and connect athletes to development resources.
• Communicate progress with coaching staff and faculty through formal channels.
• Maintain contact with faculty on caseload and monitor eligibility and progress.
• Provide oversight of academic support programs and on-campus recruiting support.
• Promote relationships with faculty and participate in department activities.
